*Image Transcription: Reddit* --- [*Unknown post title and redditor*] submitted to **\/r/harrypotter** TL/DR: We have raised our almost 8 yr old daughter to believe she's a Witch from an old Wizarding family. We're looking for more sophisticated and creative ideas from the /r/HarryPotter community to keep this thing going. Since our daughter was 5 and my wife and I first started reading her the Harry Potter books we have told her that she is a witch and that the Wizarding World is real. She is almost 8 and as her questions have gotten deeper, we've kept building the illusion with more details about our family genealogy and its connection to book characters, stories about times we used magic (and the life and moral lessons we learned about it). She has processed many difficult subjects like racism, climate change and even the Coronavirus through this lens. Before other parents judge or lecture :We know it's gas-lighting and that eventually she'll have be disappointed and have trust issues with us when she learns the truth. We justify it that we are adding magic to her childhood, and giving her motivation to reach her full (magical) potential (since she needs to study hard to be accepted to Hogwarts). We've asked serious questions of her teachers and they think it's more awesome and creative than damaging. (At the very worst case, my take is that it's analogous to children being raised to believe that traditional religious stories are true and that when the truth hits it will teach her to ask critical questions and not accept everything she hears or reads at face value.) We're looking for more ideas for how to inject little bits of Harry Potter magic into every day life using technology, crafts and adding more details to the fanfic that is our lives. --- ^^I'm a human volunteer content transcriber for Reddit and you could be too! *List of images: Reddit* --- Send [* Secret Reader *] ** / R / Harry Potter ** TL/DR: We raised our 8-year-old devil daughter from an old witch family. We need the creative and innovative ideas of the /r/HarryPotter community to make this happen. When my 5-year-old daughter and I started reading about Harry Potter, we told her that it was magic and that the world of scholars was real. About 8 years have passed, and the problems are increasing, and when we use magic, we only dream about its birth and its connection to the books (and the stories they tell us). I have learned from my life and culture).? Many complex topics such as racism, climate change and coronavirus. Before some parents think or understand: We know this is a battery story, and as a result, when we learn the truth, we can become frustrated and lose confidence. We asked her to add to the magic of her childhood and encouraged her to do her best (since she had a lot to read to get to Hogwarts). We asked their teachers tough questions and they found them to be the most dangerous, the most beautiful, and the most attractive. (In extreme cases, children often believe that religious stories are always true, and when the truth comes out, they are taught to ask important questions and reject what is heard and read.) We are looking for ideas on how to use Harry Potter magical techniques and art in our daily lives to further enhance our lives. --- I'm a dedicated Reddit translator and you can too!
